‘Ground Scores’ is the latest track from TMR favourites Dutch Interior. The Southern California six-piece have continued their trend of outdoing themselves with every new release. In a way, this feels like a straightforward love song filled with cautious optimism. In another, it’s an emotively expansive piece of genre-blending, far-reaching yet intimate music from a truly special band. They describe the track as “a love song, but it’s also a song about stumbling through the end times into something good. It was inspired by finding something valuable and unexpected on the ground one night. I realised that this chance occurrence represented how life felt when things were going well: finite happiness left behind by someone else, only to be inevitably depleted.” The band have also announced their EP, Ground Scores, which drops on March 6th, 2025, via Fat Possum. -Dan Peeke
